How the keyboard sound app's 7-day free trial works on your Mac

WhenWhat you see
First launchThe 7 days start. No account, email or card. Every board and force sensing are unlocked.
Days 1 to 6The menu bar shows how many days are left (“7 days left in your free trial”) next to a Buy button.
Day 7The menu says “Last day of your free trial”.
Day 8Sounds stop and the menu says “Your free trial has ended”, with a Buy Keyslam button. Your settings and packs stay put.
After you buyActivate your key and everything plays again, for good.

The trial start date is kept in your Mac's Keychain, on your Mac only, so reinstalling doesn't restart it. Wondering what works during the trial, such as AirPods, calls or Intel Macs? The Keyslam FAQ answers yes or no.

How buying and activation work

  1. Click Buy, here or in Keyslam's menu bar (the app opens this page). Checkout runs on Stripe in your browser. The seller is Venture Deals, Co., and the price is in US dollars.
  2. Pay. Stripe shows the payment methods available to you and emails a receipt. Keep it: the receipt number gets your key back if you ever lose it.
  3. Get your key. A thank-you page shows your license key (it starts with KEYSLAM-) and an Activate Keyslam button.
  4. Click Activate Keyslam. Your browser asks to open Keyslam; allow it and the app activates itself. Or open the menu bar icon, choose “I have a license key”, paste the key and click Activate.
  5. Done, offline. Keyslam checks the key's Ed25519 signature on your Mac, without going online. The menu then shows a check mark; click it to see “Licensed to” and your email.

One license, all your Macs

It's a personal license: use it on all the Macs you own. Nothing counts or limits activations. To set up another Mac, install Keyslam (the install steps and requirements are on the download page) and paste the same key.

“Remove License From This Mac”, under the check mark in the menu, only deletes the key from that Mac. You can paste it back any time. Keep the key somewhere safe, such as your password manager.

Refunds

If Keyslam doesn't work for you, you get a full refund within 14 days of buying. Reply to your Stripe receipt or use the contact form, and include the receipt number.

Pricing questions

How many Macs can I use one Keyslam license on?

All the Macs you own. It's a personal license, and nothing counts or limits activations. To move to a new Mac, paste the same key there; “Remove License From This Mac” only deletes it from the old one.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If it doesn't work for you, you get a full refund within 14 days of buying. Reply to your Stripe receipt or use the contact form.

Is Keyslam a subscription?

No. You pay $3.99 once. Updates and new official sound packs are included, with no in-app purchases.

Do I need an internet connection to activate?

Only to pay and to see your key in the browser. The app checks the key's Ed25519 signature on your Mac, offline, and never contacts a server.

Do I have to buy Keyslam before I can try it?

No. Download it and use it free for 7 days, then buy from the menu bar or this page.
